World No.2 & 3 time french open finalist Roger Federer made a comeback victory after being 2 sets to 1 down against Jose Acasuso in the second round.Federer was 1-5 down in third set but suddenly twisted his game to wrap up the match 7-6(8), 5-7, 7-6(2), 6-2.He now faces the in-form No. 32 seed Paul-Henri Mathieu for a place in the fourth round after the Frenchman eased past Spaniard Pablo Andujar 6-2, 6-3, 6-4.

Federer, who has reached the semi-finals or better at the past 19 Grand Slam championships, captured his 58th tour-level title at ATP World Tour Masters 1000 Madrid (d. Nadal) two weeks ago.He will be keen to not repeat his patchy performance as he did against Acasuso in the previous round & show the Frenchman the door.

Somdev Devvarman Fails To Qualify

Indian hope Somdev Devvarman failed to qualify for the Roland Garros/French Open main draw after he lost to Brazilian Marcos Daniel in clearly one sided match losing 0-6,6-1.The Indian star was not at all at his best as he could hold his serve only one & couldn't convert 5 break points which he got in the entire match & gave the match in just 58 minutes.The Brazilian outclassed Somdev scoring 30 winners to Somdev's nine & converting 5 of 8 break point oppurtunities.
